Kitāb al-nāmūs al-sharīf .1992  Published by Markaz al-Dirāsāt al-Urthūdhuksī al-Anṭākī at the University of Balamand. It is one of the unique manuscripts of the Damascus Antiochian Patriarchate collection of manuscripts. It includes the apostles and the councils creeds with their indexes and is decorated with icons and paintings. There are three volumes.namous.jpgVolume I is the edited text. Where corrections were made to the spelling and the grammar, and were indicated in the margins. Biblical references were also mentioned in the margins as well as explanations regarding some of the names. But the basic style of the text was not changed. The text was edited and commented upon by Father Qais Sadeq, Professor of Ecclesiastical law and history of the ecumenical church at the Saint John of Damascus Institute of Theology. Corrections were made by Ambassador Henry Abu Fadel, Loulou Saibaah, Massoud Khawand, and John Awad.
Volume II contains: Introduction by Metropolite Ignatius IV, Nature of the Ecclesiastical Law by Bishop George Khodr, Constantine bin al Khoury Daoud Al Homsy, a calligrapher and ornamentalist who lived in the 19th century, by Elias al Zayyat, and the Origin and Development of Ecclesiastical Law by father Qais Sadeq.
Volume III contains the 30 drawings found in the manuscript and is encased in an elegant velvet box.
40,000 copies of this book were printed as follows:
2500  cloth bound colored copies in a 2 volume set.
1200  deluxe copies in a 2 volume set with an additional boxed volume containing the 30 plates reproduced in 7 colors
300    deluxe boxed copies reserved for subscribers and numbered from 1-300.
