Works of Patriach Ignatius 1V
The project will include a part that will introduce and present the Patriarch: His birth in Mhardeh, his education in Syria, Lebanon and France. His work as a deacon (1941), a priest (1954), bishop (1962), Archbishop (1965) and finally a Metropolitan (1979). It will also include the archives related to his funeral.
But the main part of the database with its high tech output and its ease of use, will be available to academics and other specialists and researchers. It is made up of three parts:
Part One contains all the written works: books, articles, declarations, and statements. The Patriarch was known for his diversified output. In addition to his books in both Arabic and French, he has many published and unpublished sermons, and articles in newspapers and journals.
Part two documents all what has been written about the Patriarch in the local and foreign media. It also includes interviews with a number of local and foreign journalists. This work is the result of years of research, follow-ups, documentation, and archiving by the institute’s work team.
Part three is dedicated to the audio-visual sources. It includes a large number of photographs , recordings, and videos that document his life and work. These documents are not limited to what has been published in the media, but include to a large extent his personal collection which will be made public for the first time.
