The National Virtual Reality Museum for Modern Art -Lebanon
The Digital Humanities Section, together with the Lebanese Ministry of Culture, and the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts, has developed the first virtual reality museum in Lebanon. It includes more than 500 works of art (Paintings and sculpture) out of a collection of the Ministry of Culture that includes 1800 works by Lebanese plastic artists.

This collection includes a number of works by Lebanese artists. Visitors may view the works, read about a special artist or a special work, investig
ate works done in a special year, and carry out research using key words.
Each work of art has information about the artist and his works, detailed description of the work giving its style, form, techniques, and its distinctive features. It offers a rich and indispensable information to those wishing to study history of the Lebanese modern art.
Documentary films:
This section contains a unique and distinguished number of documentary films about the leading Lebanese artists and their works. The material in these films was gathered from the archives of Tele Liban and the Ministry of Culture. The Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts reproduced these films so they could be part of the electronic site of the museum and thus insure a wider circulation. Visitors to this site will find reports about Gebran Khalil Gebran, Yvette Achkar,Jamil Malaeb, Hussam Hatoum, Harout Torossian, Moussa Tiba, Paul Wakim, Jean Khalifeh, Maroun Hakim, Amin el Basha, The Basbouss family, Mouhammad al Rawwas, Saliba Douwaihi, and others

Lebanon does not have a building hosting a museum of modern art. The Digital Humanities section has founded a virtual building made up of 5 halls for displaying paintings and sculptures. Each hall is dedicated to a special time period while sculpture pieces are displayed in a special hall. A visitor may roam the halls and look at and interact with the works and with the information about them. We will gradually increase the halls to increase the number of the exhibited works. A special hall will be dedicated to the exhibition of the works of special artists. This will constitute a new artistic and cultural event.
