Works of the conference held at the University with the aim of getting a closer look at the history of the Antiochian Church especially that it had been subjected to a lot of pressure by political events, cultural environment, economic and social situations and changes in attitudes and mentalities.
That is why it was deemed necessary to study its history from the point of view of this diversity that extended over several decades so that the history of Antioch became part of the history of the other Christian denominations in the region. Questions like: how did the European wars affect it? How did its relation with other churches develop during the Ottoman rule? Did the challenges of the 20th century with all its upheavals weaken it or make it more responsive to its witness and mission? All these and other questions were tackled in this volume by the theologians and academics who participated in this conference.
